Ice apple, also known as taal, tadgola, or nungu, is a tropical fruit native to the Indian subcontinent. It is obtained from the palmyra palm tree (Borassus flabellifer) and belongs to the Arecaceae family. The fruit is widely consumed in parts of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia, where the palmyra palm grows abundantly.
